The Crescent Suzuki team have just completed a successful two-day test session with Sylvain Guintoli at Calafat in Spain.

Guintoli completed a total of 145 laps at the circuit and said,

“Overall it’s been a really encouraging start.  Compared to the 2008 machine I rode at Brands Hatch last year, the new Crescent Suzuki already feels more focused, and this is just our first outing.  Despite the test being shortened due to the high winds, I feel like we’ve got a great package to build on from here onwards.”

Jack Valentine, team manager said,

“I’m really pleased with how things have gone this week.  We tested here last year, and I know from Sylvain’s performance that we’re leaving here in a much stronger position already.  We’ve actually made minimal setting changes, which just demonstrates how good the new bike is.”

The majority of British Superbike teams are still building their 2009 specification machines, therefore this testing session for Suzuki could really give them the edge on their competitors.  The team will test again at Almeria in Spain next month.

How have the bike teams fared compared to the car teams in the credit crunch.I know the costs are lower but so are the returns.
