Eurosport and Channel 4 To Show BSB 2008

bsbFor the first time there will be an unprecedented amount of live and delayed UK and International television coverage for the 2008 season.  It will be the first season under the tenure of Motorsport Vision, who have secured new and extensive broadcast arrangements with Eurosport and Channel 4.

This means that the Bennetts British Superbike Championship will join live racing from the Moto GP and the World Superbike Championship being broadcast to over 10 million homes through the SKY and Virgin Media platforms.  There will be 48 hours of live and 66 hours of highlights coverage of BSB in the UK due to the start of a major new development for the British Eurosport 2 Channel.  The new British Eurosport Channel 2 will deliver more exciting and tailored programming for sports fans in the UK.

Motorcycle fans will be able to see a regular 4 hour live race day with the Bennetts BSB as well as The Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Champioship and the Henderson Yamaha R1 Cup support races each live from every BSB round.  Race day highlights will also be shown that evening and throughout the following week.  On Thursday’s, there will be a “British Superbikes Extra” show which will feature all the weekends British 125GP, Metzeler National Superstock 600/1000 and KTM 990 Super Duke Championships.

In an agreement between Motorsport Vision and the Eurosport Group there will be full live and exclusive coverage of the BSB across Europe on Eurosport 2.  In addition there will be live streaming of all races on all the Eurosport’s websites, which in the UK will be www.eurosport.yahoo.com.  Eurosport also have the role of BSB International TV rights handler which will enable them to promote further Worldwide TV coverage.

Channel 4 will also be broadcasting a 1 hour highlights programme on the Tuesday night after each event, with a repeat later in the week.

    why is it that we get live none english kissball oops sorry football on terestral tv but cannot get live coverage of our own demestic racing or even a highlights programme at a prime time
