Karl Harris, the Rob Mac Yamaha British Superbike rider, has signed up with the Yamaha World Supersport team to ride in the British round of the World Championship at Brands Hatch on August 2.
He will be replacing Fabien Foret, who suffered an horrendous crash in qualifying for the Brno round of the championship. The French rider, is expected to be out for at least three months after fracturing two vertebrae in his neck, although he should make a full recovery.
Harris will ride alongside Broc Parkes and has been said to be the natural choice for the ride after his experience in Supersport.
Harris said,
“I’m over the moon for the opportunity, it’s been an up and down year so it’s brought my spirits back up again! I’m really looking forward to joining the Yamaha World Supersport Team for Brands Hatch. It’s great to be riding Supersport again, especially as I’ve had some success with three previous British Supersport Championship wins!”
