The MSS Colchester Kawasaki team have confirmed their riders for the 2009 season as Simon Andrews and Julien Da Costa. Both riders have signed a two-year contract with the option to extend to three years.
Andrews was on-board the Lloyds British Jentin Yamaha this season where he finished in eighth place overall in the championship.
The Frenchman Da Costa, has ridden for the MSS team before back in 2005, although only briefly, and is also the current World Endurance Champion.
The new team partnership will be a joint venture between Nick Morgan’s MSS Racing-run enterprise and Colchester Kawasaki, which is owned and run by former racer Ian Stewart.
Morgan has said,
“We’ve spent this year and last laying the groundwork for this deal on track, in the paddock enviroment and via our succesful interaction with race fans and the UK Kawasaki dealer network. We now have the infrastructure in place to make a concerted and competitive bid for Superbike success with Kawasaki Motors UK as a key racing partner.”
