The next round of the British Superbike Championship takes place at the Thruxton circuit this weekend, and Sean Emmett will be on the grid.
Emmett, will be replacing Steve Plater in the AIM Yamaha team in addition to competing in the Henderson Yamaha R1 Cup while Plater will be competing in the GMT94 Yamaha in the Le Mans 24-hour event.
Emmett said “I am really glad to be back in BSB this weekend, especially with the new one tyre rule as it means we are racing on a more equal level. The difference between a good and bad tyre before could have meant the difference of up to a second, so I am pleased we will all be running the same. Thruxton is one of my favourite circuits on the calendar, so hopefully I can have a good result.”
In July 2007, Sean also replaced an injured teammate, Dean Thomas, on the Samsung Suzuki after Thomas had crashed during free practice and cracked a couple of ribs. Emmett took home two ninth places for the team at the seventh round of BSB Championship at Knockhill in Scotland.
