Rea won all three races at the Barbagallo Raceway in Perth to be declared the overall winner of the event amassing a total of 75 points.

The 2008 winner Ian Lowry finished in fifth place followed by Jeremy McWilliams in sixth and Alistair Seeley coming in eighth.

Race 1

The World Superbike rider Jonathan Rea dominated the first 15 lap race, taking the chequered flag by just over a second ahead of Ian Lowry and Shannon Johnson.

As Rea took the lead at the start of the race, Jeremy McWilliams slipped back to eighth place after missing a gear and Australian Shannon Johnson moved back from pole position to fifth.

Whilst  Rea set a fast second lap he was put under pressure from Lowry who had Johnson on his tail after clawing his way back up the field.

Johnson was out of contention on lap 7 after a coming together with Conor Cummins as Ian Lougher also retired his machine.

Simon Andrews ended the first race in sixth place after an exciting battle with Daniel Stauffer and Jeremy McWilliams, securing his position by the halfway mark.

Race 2

Alistair Seeley took the lead for the second 15 lap race while Rea not only got off to a poor start but also ran wide at the first corner dropping him back to fifth place.

Seeley led ahead of Shannon Johnson, Ian Lowry, Jeremy McWilliams and Rea but as Johnson tried to pass the race leader the two made contact allowing Rea to move up into third place.  Lowry was following closely in fourth place while Andrew Simon done well to stay on his bike after a dramatic high-side coming out of the final corner.

Rea moved to the front of the riders on lap 6 as Johnson ran wide allowing Seeley to move into second position.  Johnson’s race ended on the same lap after suffering from an ignition problem on his machine forcing him into retirement.

Rea was followed by Seeley in second and Lowry in third while the battle for fourth position was being fought out behind between Andrew Pitt and Daniel Stauffer, with Pitt making it stick with 3 laps remaining.  McWilliams finished in sixth place ahead of Andrews in seventh and Connor Cummins claiming ninth place.

David Johnson was forced to miss the second race after discovering damaged forks on his machine due to the first race crash.

Race 3

Rea completed his hat-trick at the Australian circuit by winning the last race of the day ahead of Andrew Pitt and Simon Andrews.

At the start of the final event for the riders Shannon Johnson was unable to take part after his KTM refused to start, leaving him watching from the sidelines.

Rea took to the front as the race got underway leading Lowry, Seeley and Pitt.  Seeley was out of the race by lap 4 as he came off his machine at the final corner.  As Lowry stayed with the race leader the battle for third place was going on behind between Pitt, McWilliams, Stauffer and Andrews.

At just over the halfway mark, Lowry was forced to stop on track after losing his exhaust, he managed to rejoin the race but finished way down the field in twelfth place.

As Rea led Lowry by a comfortable 2 second margin, Stauffer sat in third until Andrews decided to challenge him for the position, passing with ease at the final corner on the penultimate lap.
