David Johnson - Maxxis Team
Team Maxxis are unsure whether they will be on the grid of the next round of the British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park for round 9, after David Johnson not only injured himself but also wrote-off the R1 at Brands Hatch.
Johnson crashed heavily on lap 4 of the second race of the day at Hawthorns, bringing out the safety car while he was attended to by the medical team.
The team have said;
“Team MAXXIS Adept-Yamaha leaves Brands Hatch with an injured rider and a written-off YZF R1 superbike. The team will now head back to their workshop in Liverpool and assess the damage to the R1, and await news on the full extent of Dave Johnson’s injuries. Thereafter, a decision will be made by team owners John Jameson and Julian Mosquera regarding their plans for the next round at Cadwell Park.”
