Tom Sykes, the Rizla Suzuki rider, is a Wild-Card entry at the World Superbike Championship this weekend at Brands Hatch.
In his first ever Superpole qualifying session, Sykes claimed an impressive sixth place putting him on the second row of the grid.
He came in tenth in qualifying and after changing his tyre to a Pirelli qualifying tyre, his first ever, he went even faster, taking fourth and comfortably making it through to the qualifying shoot-out.
After rain, the one-lap Superpole was declared wet, meaning that the riders were allowed a maximum of twelve laps in the fifty minute session.
With fifteen minutes remaining of the session, Sykes took to the track and in tricky weather conditions took his well earned place on the grid.
